About RFA Vein Treatment
During RFA, a thin catheter delivers radiofrequency energy inside the affected vein under ultrasound guidance, gently sealing it closed. RFA is performed in-office, and most patients walk the same day with light-activity restrictions for a short period.
RFA is a minimally invasive, in-office alternative to EVLT. Some clinicians prefer RFA for certain vein anatomies. Outcomes and recovery are comparable to EVLT for the right patient.
